Broken

Alone-cute-emo-girl-sad-crying-on-bed-hurt-feelings

Her heart felt heavy
Her head hung low
She’d failed the test
Nothing left to show

Defined by moments
Such as these
Her soul now broken
By what she’d perceived

Uncertainty splayed
Over her once happy face
Now she could only feel
The weight of disgrace

In all her years
She’d always been strong
Now the world was winning
And all was wrong

No pieces to put back together
Nothing to mend
Hand reached out
Yet not a single close friend

Giving up all hope
She’s come to her end
She just can’t see
What’s around the bend

This is how I have been feeling for quite awhile.  I had let a past wrong consume me to the point that I just couldn’t see how to face the future.  I convinced myself initially that I could keep going and just forget about the problem.  I hate dwelling on the past and I had made up my mind that I didn’t want to do that.  Unfortunately, I later realized that I had just swept everything under the rug and hadn’t even begun the process of forgiving the person who hurt me.  Because of this, I found myself lost and without direction; turning into a person that I didn’t even recognize.  I was spiraling out of control; desperately looking for a way out.

A couple of weeks ago, I finally broke down and came to the realization that I had to fix what was broken in order to finally be able to heal.  It all came down to being completely honest with myself and the person who had hurt me in the first place.  As hard as it was, I knew I had to confess some things that I had done as well.  It was good to get everything out in the open so that both of us could finally begin to heal.  I think things can only get better from here on out.  I’m hopeful anyway… I know with God leading the way, anything is possible.

  3. Thank you Clarissa… I just couldn’t face another day living with the hurt and the guilt. It was affecting my relationship with God more than anything else, and that’s why I finally had to do something to remedy things. I’m so thankful God is always there when we mess up our lives. There’s no way I would still be here without him in my life.

I’m thankful it made a difference for you. We put these words out there sometimes not know where they will land. It is good to see them sprouting roots. I wish you the best in whatever it is you are overcoming at present.

  6. Thank you so much… I decided it was time to take a leap of faith and trust God in everything. I have been blessed as the outcome has actually made things so much better. Honesty is always the best option for anyone.

  7. Some say honesty is the best policy. Others say something’s are best left unspoken. Wisdom helps us to choose. Sometimes people don’t realize they did or said something hurtful. Then there are others who just don’t care. When we don’t communicate nothing is ever resolved. I admire your bravery. Now you know where you are at, where you stand with the person. But more importantly you know who you are and see the future. Your words inspire and encourage others and me. That is the most beautiful of thoughts… With God leading the way. Thank you Michelle.

  8. Read this Michelle

    Genesis 2:1-7

Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.
This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens, before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the Lord God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

    And now this.

    Genesis 5:1-3

This is the book of the genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in the likeness of God. He created them male and female, and blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son in his own likeness, after his image, and named him Seth. After he begot Seth, the days of Adam were eight hundred years; and he had sons and daughters

Do you notice a difference between the 2 accounts of creation?

  9. Dear Girl, thanks for letting your pain be the remedy for other’s gain. The road is hard especially when traveling it alone. Others can follow your steps as you follow Jesus’ pattern for healing hurts in relationships. We await your continued peace and recovery. There is only you, dear, who can do what you do. God will fulfill his purpose in you.

  10. Just one more thing. Dig your toes into that dirt. Do you feel the foundation that is there? That the Rock. That’s what you are standing on.

  11. Thank you Wade, your heartfelt words mean so much to me. I couldn’t agree with you more, I feel like a weight has been lifted off my chest and I can see my future clearly now. Going through all of this has definitely taught me so much about grace and think I can now finally understand how people can fall into the enemy’s trap so easily. Especially since it did just happened to me. Through every bad situation there is always wisdom to be gained, and I’m happy for that.

  13. I really do… I had begun to drift away from that firm foundation, but the Lord never lets us stray for very long. He always brings us back, just like a little lost sheep. 😉

  17. If you look there are 2 accounts of creation. The first showing God’s creation of Adam and Eve and their sin in the garden and the loss of both of their sons. In chapter 5 it notes the beginning of the history of mankind all over again only this time it starts with Seth. The takeaway here is that God is able to rewrite your history.

  21. You’re right. With Jesus by your side, nothing is impossible; He defied death, after all, and WON. Forgiveness of yourself and others is hard, but totally worth it. Without it, our hearts become bitter and stony. Forgiveness heals both parties!:)
