The Drudgery of Life

Overflowing laundry basket

So very tired

Struggling for life

Wrestling with the battles

That come as a housewife

Energy lacking

Both in body and soul

Longing for the moment

When dreariness won’t control

Waiting on the day

For the drudgery to end

Future strength needed

Or life will never begin

Everyday failing

To stick with the plan

Feeling as if fading

Can anyone understand?

  1. I understand completely. Don’t ever think you’re failing, at anything you do, or don’t do. God never gives us more than we can handle. Love you ❤️

  7. I’m right there with you, but you know what? It’s not going anywhere, so when you get to it, you get to it. Live each moment for what it is. Another breath, another day. Just breathe it all in, and tell the laundry you’ll be back eventually 🙂

  14. Hey, at least if we do trip and fall, we’ll land on something soft. 😉

Check that energy around you. See if you are not feeding off it. This sounds a lot like the first three blogs I read this morning… and this one is the fourth. 🙂

  16. Nope… Not feeding off anyone. Everyone is happy here. It’s just me and my laundry, we’re having sort of a break down in communication. For some strange reason, the socks have decided to jump into my basket while I’m not looking. Hey, at least I’ve been able to find all the matching pairs. Lol… 😉 Of course I suppose I’m adding to the drudgery of life by posting this poem. Oh well… Lol… 😋

You go back and forth all the time. Don’t get me wrong, it is always good, but it is happy-sad. I challenge you to remain happy at all times, no matter what the circumstances, by relying on that Inner Voice. I know you can hear it. Now I want to see if you can use it for its intended purpose.

  18. Yeah, this about sums me up. I take the good with the bad. I don’t think anyone can ever be happy all the time. Not with the amount of pain in this world. Got to wait for the next life for that.

I’m not going to answer this 🙂 (except in this way), but you just gave me an idea for a really great post. Thank you!

  20. I have a feeling I’ve just become your biggest challenge and project. Lol…. My husband just called me a stick in the mud… That’s me… ol stick in the mud! 🙂

No, you’re not a challenge or a project. I’m not like that. You are free to be who you are, and I’ll probably stand by you regardless because I appreciate you as a person.
Every once in a while you’ll have to put up with me reminding you who you really are though, just because I care.
I’m not expecting anything. I’m long past that with people. But sometime I cannot help but point out potential.
You have a lot of it. 🙂

  22. Well, everyone seems to always want to fix me…. I guess they know I can do better if I choose. I realize you care… you’re always empathetic after all.

Us empathic sorts want to see if you will fix yourself. Since we can feel what you are going through, and are looking at it from an objective second person perspective and not the subjective first person.
I could be all sympathetic, but that wouldn’t help. That would just make you pathetic.
Life is life. It will always throw ups and downs in our path until we see the Light in both situations. Then nothing can hold us down. Excuse me for preaching a moment there. Just sharing a little spindrift.

  24. I like how you put this and it makes complete sense to me. And you aren’t preaching… just words of wisdom. I can always use those! 🙂 Thanks for always trying to put a positive spin on things. I find encouragement there.
