Treasured Memories

The sun begins to dip

Below the glistening waters

It’s been another glorious day

With two of my beautiful daughters

The skies open up to reveal

The last sparkling rays of light

As glints of speckled fireflies

Cause fits of pure delight

I look out beyond the ripples

Wondering where the time goes

The laughter of my sweet girls

Evaporates all of my woes

There’s something in a giggle

That just never quite grows old

Another treasured memory

Such a precious sight to behold
