Her Melody

Her delicate hands they fly

Across those ivory keys

The music she creates

Nearly brings me to my knees

Someday I shall miss

The harmony which fills this place

When I am old and gray

And missing her sweet face

It’s often hard to believe

In just two more short years

This familiar tune may fade

And I could be sitting here in tears

For I know when she is gone

I will certainly miss the songs she plays

Oh child how I wish

You would never go away

  1. Beautiful words describe what must be beautiful music. The joy of music played by our children is such a beautiful sound to our ears. It will always be there if you listen.

  5. As a mom, I know the fear. One is leaving the nest in 2 months. He’ll be minutes away, but still… Tape the music, you’ll never be without it.
    Love you! ❤️

  6. When I read this to my daughter tonight, I couldn’t help but cry. She said, Oh mom, you’re just sad because you have 2 daughters marrying this year, and you’re gonna miss them…. Then she said, Don’t worry, you still have at least 1,000 days left with me, and probably more!” Her hug made my night. 🙂 Love you too Dorinda! ❤️
