The Child I Never Knew

Oh my child how my heart aches for you today and every day

The memory of you is still so vivid in my mind

I imagine what life would have been like with you

You were just beyond my reach

A speck of dust floating gently on the cool breeze

A ray of sunshine on a crisp March morning

Then all at once you were gone

A whisper in the wind

Lost in the pages of time

Leaving my broken soul to carry on

My heart to ache forevermore

  2. Thank you for your kind words. Good Friday is hard day for me because it was the day I lost my first child. The following year, I lost another child, one of my twins. This picture is of my daughter Autumn and it was her twin that I lost. I am truly blessed to have four beautiful girls, but I miss with all my heart the ones that I lost.

  3. Thank you for sharing your heartbreak. Perhaps you and others will find that they aren’t alone in grief for the little ones so briefly here. Loss is the only downside to love, I think.

  4. You’re very welcome and yes, unfortunately there are far too many who have lost their little ones. My heart breaks for anyone who has gone through this. I feel the same way, loss is the downside to love, but without love we wouldn’t be able to endure the losses.

  12. Michelle, I came into contact with you after this post so I’m behind in expressing my care for you regarding these losses. I’ve never lost a child, but I have lost grandchildren and their mothers were so deeply hurt. I’m sorry for your pain. Your ability to put words to it will help others who are walking your walk. Be blessed as you bless others.

  13. Thank you… I am just grateful for the children that I do have, when so many others can’t have any. My youngest is a living picture of what her twin would have been and I am grateful that at least she survived. She is the happiest of all of my children and makes life amazing for all of us.
