Joy can be found

In the most remote places

It can also be seen

On our sweet children’s faces

Joy can be captured

On very rare occasions

Or during the most obvious

Of familiar celebrations

Joy can be felt

In the midst of despair

Although during these times

It is often quite rare

Joy can be critical

To a broken heart

And help us in times

When we need a fresh start

Joy can be forgotten

In moments of great distress

And then suddenly remembered

When anguish becomes less

Joy can be unexpected

And fill our hearts with delight

It can flood our weary thoughts

And make everything turn out right

Joy can be given

By all who are happy to share

It just takes a simple heart

One willing to love and to care
