The creative intellect of the pen…

once-upon-a-time-719174_960_720

I love the rush of the pen
As it dives right in
The spark it creates
Never once does it hesitate
The flow of the ink
Creating emotions that speak
A life of its own
Spilling out to set the tone

  1. Funny how pencils do that too when a drawing is trying to be born 😉 That’s the magic of it!

  4. Beautiful! I also love the rush of the pen and the magic it creates. The same goes for drawing, like you said. I’m passionate about drawing and painting, too, and I’ve been curious about other mediums like pottery for years.:)

  5. Well we have a lot in common then! I took a stained glass class a few years ago and loved that too. I would love to get into pottery, but have no idea where I would go to do that. Not much around here for that sort of thing. 😉

  6. That is soo good to hear! I never even thought about the possibility of a stained glass course, but there would have to be some, wouldn’t there? Otherwise, how would people learn how to do it? There aren’t any pottery classes in your area of Wisconsin? Do you have a community college or anything like that?

  7. The stained glass class I took was at a shop that specifically sells glass to artists. We have a few colleges nearby, but I have no idea if they offer anything like this. I would rather find a studio that offers room to practice at will. I did do some pottery in high school, so I think with a little refresher I would do alright. I love art of all kinds and love to just play around with stuff and just create whatever I want. I could spend all day doing this and someday I may just do that! Between writing and art, I think I would be perfectly happy!

  8. That’s awesome! You should look into the classes the colleges have to offer. I realize that you don’t have as much freedom there as a studio, but you typically attend class twice a week, for two or three hours each. At least, that’s how it was in Moses Lake. It might be different near you. A refresher would be ideal, and then you could progress from there! I am very artistically inclined, as well. I can relate to that. Without reading regularly and writing, I’m simply not myself. It’s like an essential part of me is missing.

  9. Who knows… maybe I will! 😉 I spend an hour each morning from 9-10 teaching art to my girls. It’s a great way to start the day off and they have really been learning a ton this year. I don’t spend nearly enough time reading and I bet I would be better off if I did.

  10. At least look into it. Can’t hurt, right? That’s so cool that you’re instilling your love and knowledge of art onto your girls. I’m so glad they’re learning.:) Yes, reading a lot is so important….especially as a writer.
