#weekendcoffeeshare – Provoked and Peeved

coffee-1117933_960_720

Good morning everyone, I really hope all of you have been having a lovely week.  It’s been mostly cold, wet and dreary here, so I’m in need of some cheery conversation.  I’ve got a scrumptious homemade chai tea, hot chocolate with extra whipped cream, or regular ol medium roast coffee this morning.  So take your pick!  Alright, let’s get to it…

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my frustration level has hit a new high this week.  I’m normally a very calm and easy going person, until somebody decides to rev me up.  I suppose I’m just tired of letting people walk all over me, but then I wrestle with the notion that I ought to be sweet and nice and not rock anybody’s boat.

Somedays, I think the best thing I could do for myself, is to just let go of anyone who can’t seem to play nice with me.  After all, I shouldn’t have to put up with all the nonsense when I haven’t done anything wrong.  So often, I feel like I’m back in the school yard once again, with the way people act these days!  The behavior of some is quite appalling and so often unnecessary.

Okay, my little rant is over.  I just needed to get that out, it’s been welling up inside me all week and simply needed to be said.  Now to my very kind and thoughtful blogger friends, I have no problems with any of you.  All of you have been so sweet to me, and WP is my happy place because of it.  So thank you fellow bloggers, let us continue to unite as an unrelenting positive force!

Now I do believe, there is a silver lining in every lousy thing we may face.  And this week was no exception.  I took all the anger that had been building up inside me this week and poured it all out into my writing.  I was having a bit of writer’s block at the beginning of the week, and then all it took was that one last hit over the head for the dam to break, and for me to finally regain my thoughts once more.

Isn’t it funny how our emotions can often drive us to actually getting things accomplished?  When I get angry or upset, I turn my frustrations into productivity.  If I’m at home and someone upsets me, watch out!  I’ll have my house cleaned in a quarter of the time it normally takes me.  That’s just how I am, and how I’ve always been.  I suppose that’s always been my way of fighting back and not giving in to defeat.

There are so many people I know, who just give up the minute life gets a tad bit difficult.  I think this drives me crazier than anything else.  How can you simply give up, when things don’t go according to plan?  In my mind, that just causes a person to become even more beaten down.  Anyway, enough about me and what I think.  Tell me about your week; anything new and exciting to share?  I’d really love to hear about it, so please leave me a message in the comments section.

One final thought… I really hope all of you have a very blessed week, and please don’t ever give up.  Turn your frustrations into creative energy and focus on the positives!  Hugs and kisses!  ~M

  1. I understand completely – I have found that whenever someone pisses me off I end up venting, at home in private. The rules do seem to change at the drop of a hat but I don’t care, I speak my mind and someone doesn’t like it then oh well.

  2. I find that the older I get, the less I put up with crap. Somehow, when we don’t waste our energy on those who are trying (or not trying but doing it anyway) to get our goat, they give up. At first, some of them we miss because originally we thought they were friends but eventually, they just disappear to be replaced by those worthy or our time! I am so with you on the blogging friends! What a fabulous bunch we are!

    1. I completely agree… I’m at my wits end with a few. I absolutely love the blogging community. We are a fabulous bunch! How’s your trip going? Have you left yet?

            1. Lol…. I can’t complain too much, I have a whole week away to myself at the end of this month. Always take a personal retreat each year. 😉

  3. Keep your chin up. I seem to have retreated myself over the past few years. Life is too short to waste with nasty people, and I too have met so many wonderful people through blogging. However, I did find myself spending too much time in blogland at the expense of my local friends so I’ve pulled back a bit. I hope that makes sense. It’s getting late.
Hope you have a great week.

    1. Life is too short for all of that, and sometimes we do need to pull back from all kinds of Social Media. Living away from a screen for awhile is always a good thing! Have a great week! 🙂

  4. I’ll take coffee, black, strong and no sugar please. There was two words in your post that shined bright and may explain how sometimes our lives can just be out of control. “Letting” was the first one. We “let” things and others dictate how our lives “should” (second word) be. Everything is what it is and the only thing we can change is ourselves. Nobody can push buttons unless you give them buttons to push. Thanks for the coffee and wish I could send you some Florida sunshine 🙂

    1. So true….. and today I hid all the buttons, so that nobody could push them! Lol…. And as far as the sunshine goes, I wish you could too! One of my daughter’s just moved there, I’m happy someone in the family can enjoy the warm weather right now! 🙂

  5. Sorry to learn you had some problems. Lax you were able to turn it into a positive one. Clearing your writer’s block was good. My husband ‘s stuff peppers are making me hungry. I guess I need to see what I can eat.

  6. First, I love that steamy cup of coffee pic. Secondly and more importantly: “Isn’t it funny how our emotions can often drive us to actually getting things accomplished? When I get angry or upset, I turn my frustrations into productivity.” I completely relate to this.

Ranting is healthy and cleansing, so rant on. 🙂 I enjoyed this post.

    1. Of course now I’m stuck again! Lol…. The words just aren’t flowing they way they usually do. Hopefully the weather warms up soon! I get most of my inspiration from being outside and with the cold weather, I’ve stayed mostly indoors. I really think this is my biggest problem right now.

        1. Yeah, I’m actually going out today. It isn’t any warmer, but I’m meeting a friend of mine for lunch. So at least I’m doing something! Lol… Otherwise, I haven’t left my house since last Sunday! I’m such a homebody…. It really isn’t good for me.

            1. I know… I grew up in California, and was spoiled there by the warm weather. I’ve now been in Wisconsin for over half my life, and I still haven’t acclimated to the cold. I’m planning to move in a couple of years, mainly because I feel like I really need a warmer climate.

    1. Yes, sometimes you do. I hate doing that though, but sometimes it’s completely unavoidably if you want to save your sanity! 😉

  7. Lady! I hear you. I don’t understand the rules sometimes, but I’m much more apt these days to just walk away from situations that hurt me instead of help.

    1. Yeah, think I’m done trying to figure out the rules. Better to just move on. I’m avoiding the main culprit right now. She’s someone I can’t walk away from completely.
