Stuck on 45…

growing-old-quotes-and-sayings-let-your-age-go-old-but-not-your-heart

I just realized I haven’t far to go

And forty-five isn’t an age I care to know

Oh why must we grow old and gray

The sun still rises like any other day

It’s a shame we must live to expire

The thought of the end seems so dire

And why am I even remarking on this today

Surely heaven must be far far away

I suppose it’s because a new year is coming

And I can’t even remember the song I was just humming

Signs like this make me feel old

Alzheimer runs in my family or so I’m told

What if I do eventually forget those I know

Just thinking about it makes me feel low

I suppose we can’t worry about what life could bring

The days are short and so we must carry on and sing

And yet I’m still stuck on turning forty-five

Seems like an age I just might not survive

I feel so old as I look in the mirror

My age is becoming so very crystal clear

Tiny wrinkles now crease my once young face

And occasionally I have to wear an ugly knee brace

I can’t even imagine what may occur next

I’ll tell you one thing though I’ll never give up sex

Yes I realize this poem is sort of strange

Old age does start to make a person a little deranged

So I suppose I’d better end this poem now

You never know I could suddenly forget how

  7. Yea passing 45 already and getting closer to 50 am I. I can soon start ordering off the Senior’s menu, not sure if that is good or bad. Have a blessed Christmas. May all your wishes for this season come true.

  8. HaHa Michelle, I like your musings on 45, I am past that age and not really looking forward to 50 but not giving it much thought, at least not at this point. My body makes me feel my age, sometimes older, but my mind still marvels that I am adult and dealing with all this crap sometimes. Go figure.

  22. Sweet. Here are a couple of dates that I can throw and see what you think. 1-8; 1-22; 1-29: those dates consist of no church because the Lovelace’s are on vacation then in Africa. Of course, I am flexible.
