Masquerader – Writing 201: Poetry, Day 4 (Imperfect, Limerick, Enjambment)

Masquerader

Look into my soul and there you’ll find

An imperfect soul

An imperfect mind

This ugly abyss deficient and flawed is secretly a place of

Perversion

Fraud

Though I struggle to be good my twisted heart

Fails

I wrestle with myself to no easy

Avail

I wonder…

Can my heart be redesigned?

Or is this the way…

I’ll forever be defined…

  6. The poem had a lot of depth and complexity. I’m not a poet, so I’m always amazed what can be captured in a few words. I hope tomorrow is lighter.

  7. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Sometimes when you pour your heart out on a page and nobody listens, it just seems pointless. I hope tomorrow is lighter too, today has been one of those days…

  8. I think it’s only that sometimes people don’t know what to say, especially when the content is layered, and perhaps personal. Never pointless, Michelle; someone is always listening ❤

  9. I think most everyone can relate to this lovely piece. I know I’m not the person I want to be…you know? We’re a work in progress. Very nicely done!
