Unfamiliar me

A blank slate

Is what I’ve become

The past me has vanished

A change has begun

I’m simply not the same

As yesterday’s girl

I’ve grown over time

Like an oyster’s pearl

I like the brand-new me

Yet she’s foreign in many ways

So many differences

In this recent phase

I feel I really must

Take the time and begin

To somehow get to know her

All over again

  6. Love this. I can definitely relate. I’m savoring the evolution; learning compassion for the all the ‘old’ me’s, finding comfort in the now, and holding close the hope for future me’s. It’s not always easy, but it’s a gift, I believe.

  7. Thank you Angela. I suppose the only way to be happy with ourselves, is to completely embrace who we are, who we’ve been, and who we are becoming. 😉
