Saying goodbye to social media

There have been so many disappointments in my life over the past several years and I think a lot of those issues started with being on social media and the repercussions that came with being on there.  I have mulled over this subject for months and months now and I have finally decided that the time has come for me to close all of my social media accounts.  And as many of you have probably noticed, I haven’t been writing much in recent days.  I just feel like I need to take a step back in many ways.  I have so many other priorities right now and I feel like I need to be focusing my time in other areas of my life.  If any of you need to contact me, I can still be reached by email which can be found if you click on my Gravatar.  Thank you all for understanding, and I will still be providing the writing prompts every month and doing my best to keep up with all of that.  Love you guys… ~M xo

  1. Do whatever makes you a happier person. I understand and support you. Sometimes a little extra burden is just too much, right? Myself, I cut it all significantly. Glad you are not deleting the site. Best of luck, blessings! xx

  2. As usual I am way behind in my reading and this was a shocker just now. My first thought was “This sucks”, but after rereading it, I can understand your reasons. Our personal and family must always come first. While social media can provide a diversion, it grabs us and takes up more and more of our time. I go on Facebook less and less and get tired of it. You know how much I love you and Brian and I wish you all the best. You are like the daughter I never had and I value your friendship and kindness. I will never be far away, and you know how to reach me. Whatever you need, I will be here. Hugs & Love to you, Brian, and the girls. 😊💕😢

    1. Thank you Walt, I really appreciate this. I just felt like it was all adding to the stress in my life and something had to go. It’s been nice to not have my phone buzzing at me every minute of the day, and I have no regrets for just saying goodbye to all of it. The people who need to contact me, already know how they can reach me. And I’m still here on the blog, and I doubt that will ever change. After all, I still need some sort of social life for whenever I actually decide to be social again. LOL 😉

  3. Sorry to hear that you have been having a difficult time recently. I have heard from others who have abstained from social media, even just temporarily, that they reaped many benefits from the exercise, and I hope that you do, as well.

I also hope that you are feeling better, or will be soon. 🙂
