Here’s what I like to do with the prompts.  Hope you’ll try this too!  And for all of you participating in NaNoWriMo this month, best of luck to you!  😉

To begin, settle into your favorite place in the house with a hot drink to warm your waking bones.  Once you’ve warmed up a bit; grab your journal, a trusty pen, and a timer.  Then, set your timer for ten minutes and begin writing about one of the prompts.  Don’t worry about spelling, punctuation, neatness, or anything like that; just write!  Write about anything and everything that comes to your mind, and don’t stop until the ten minutes are up.

I often find myself writing short stories or poems during those ten minutes, but you can write about anything you like.  And don’t be alarmed if what you’ve written doesn’t quite make sense.  The whole idea behind doing this exercise is to get your mind ready and working so that you can begin your day.  Just think of it as exercise for your brain, and once you’ve done your ten minutes of writing, you’ll feel more prepared to tackle the rest of your day.

As always, I will be writing and posting over on my other blog, which can be found here. So please come visit me if you get a chance, and hopefully I can keep up with all of you!😉

One last thing… don’t forget to pingback your posts!

October Writing Prompt Participants

Well that’s a wrap!  😉 One more month down and we had a bunch of newbies join us.  I want to highlight one blog in particular because it’s actually a group of people who decided to start a blog for the purpose of writing for ten minutes everyday.  If you haven’t been to their blog, I would highly suggest visiting them.  Some great stuff over there!  You can find them here.  Please also look through the list below and take a look at all the other new participants.  Lots of great posts this month and it was so much fun to read the variety of ideas.  You all amaze me so much.

Also, I think I’m going to start picking a favorite post for each month to give one person special acknowledgement.  So my favorite post for this month was, Clinky and ClankyBy, Matt Gambrill.  This poem amazed me because Matt took the prompt Clinky and Clanky and made it into a very thought provoking and emotionally touching bit of writing.  I love poems that can move me like that.  This just proves to me that a simple prompt like this can create so much more than we could ever imagine.   Great job Matt!

See you all in November!  😉  ~M xo

Here are the new writing prompts for October.  As you’ll notice, I decided to do a Halloween theme this month, and I really hope everyone enjoys them!

I’d also like to send a special birthday wish to Dorinda Duclos.  May your birthday month be filled with everything that makes you the happiest that you can be!  You inspire me to keep going even when I feel like quitting, and I love you for that and for so many other reasons.  Thank you for always being you.  ❤️~M xo

Now for all you newbies, here’s what I like to do with the prompts.  Hope you’ll try this too!  😉
