When you smack your elbow, why do people say…

“Oh, you hit your funny bone!”

It really isn’t funny at all…

Ouch!!!

And since “funny bone” is pronounced (fun-knee bone), shouldn’t it refer to your knee instead of your elbow anyway?  ~M
