Breathless

view-2417156_960_720

The window swung open

Not a breath of wind in the stale air

And golden tresses cascaded

Over ivory shoulders cold and bare

Her thoughts were deeply rooted

In the splash of blue of her faraway stare

And her heart stood there broken

Lost in a dream which was far from there

The crash of waves interrupted

Her lonely despairing thoughts

And her mind fought to refocus

On what the new day had brought

But at last her mental clarity

Betrayed her once more

As she stumbled and fell dead

Against the unconcerned floor

Raging River

500

The river rages

As the rain pours down

Weaving its way through

The small deserted town

The wind fiercely howls

Its bellowing gale

As violent currents erupt

Then rapidly sail

Droplets dance freely

Over the endless waves

The surface of the water

Ever turbulent and grave

After discovering so many great prompts throughout the week and writing poems about some of them, I’ve decided to give everybody a chance to get involved and share their writing prompts here.  So if you have a prompt that you would like to share, please leave it in the comments section below.  I will then chose one of the prompts and write a poem about it.  Thanks everyone!  I look forward to seeing what you come up with!

A place of wonder throughout the years

wave-929095_960_720

A sea of emerald green

Crystallized and pristine

Saturates my thirsty skin

Elevating my sinking chin

Each pulsating wave

Gently tugs and pulls

Affirming how the sea

Is tethered to my soul

Boosted up upon each surge

Then dragged easily back down

I endeavor to be buoyant

Since the fallout is to drown

The ocean feels alive

Splashing against my bones

Lifting me effortlessly up

I float freely on its sparkling throne

The refreshment of each wave

Quenches my playful desire

And soon the tide rushes in

Raising me even higher

The sound of the churning foam

Rings loudly within my ears

Speaking softly to my heart

A place of wonder throughout the years

Waves of Ecstasy – #RomanticTuesday

pixabay15

Crystal clear waters

Warm and enticing

The oceans current

Serene and inviting

Turquoise blue sea foam

Drifts lazily along the shore

As enthralled young lovers

Undress and explore

The sea beckons softly

And before very long

The happy young couple

Slips into the beyond

Sliding beneath

The temperate swells

Each transfixed

By the other’s hypnotic spell

Now fully overcome

With passion and desire

Discovering a love

Which will never expire

Moving closer together

On the uprising of the tide

She takes him fully

As he slips deep inside

Ecstasy now shown

Upon his charming face

Completely satisfied

In her amorous embrace

Mesmerized by each other

Lost in a dream all their own

Pleased by this rare moment

To be free and all alone

Which color best describes you right now, and why?  ~M

This used to be a question that one of my friends and I used to ask each other all the time.  We always came up with the craziest answers.  I suppose I need to pose this question to her again soon, since It’s been way too long!

Today I’m an iridescent shade of blue-green, just like the sparkling waves of an ocean.  One reason for this is that I’m under the weather at the moment and I’ve been fading in and out of sleep all day.  The nausea reminds me of a time when I was whale watching during a storm and became sea sick because of it.   Yet inside my tired achy body, I feel a glimmer of hope, that tomorrow will be better and I will be back to doing all the things I love once more.

Cheer me up by leaving me a comment about which color best describes you right now, and why.  Can’t wait to hear what you have to say!

I’m still in awe of… (Part 2)

I’m still in awe of…

The unfathomable sea

Respectively impressive

Azure waves of majesty

Arrest my mystified heart

A sudden rush of anticipation

Before surges of saltwater bliss

Tease and tickle my toes

Delighting my indigent spirit
