Final Project – Week 8

Well here it is, my final drawing for the 8 week course I’ve been taking.  I think I did a decent job with this class, especially considering I haven’t drawn much of anything in nearly 30 years.  Still not sure if I’ll continue with it, but if I do, I will likely try to illustrate some of my own books.

It’s snowing here again in Wisconsin, and although it’s pretty, I still wish spring would stop teasing us.  On the upside, it certainly does make for a great day of creativity in some form or another, which I’ll most likely take full advantage of.  Anyway, hope everyone is having a great weekend!    ~M xo

Sketching Week 6

Here’s my final project for this week.  I took photos along the way to show the entire process.  The overall drawing took me approximately 15 hours to complete and I used a 4B graphite pencil for the entire drawing.  I was surprised a handkerchief could take this long to sketch.  Lol… 😉

Sketch 4 – Final Version

Well, here’s my final sketch for my mid-term project.  My teacher didn’t really want me adding anything else, but I snuck in an extra book because I thought it looked too plain without it.  He also wanted me to shade the table, so I did that as well.  This was a lot more difficult from my first sketch since this one was done in charcoal and my original sketch was done in graphite.  Hopefully I get a good grade.  My teacher seems like a tough grader and so far I’m at an 89%.  So I’ve got to bring that up a bit if I want to get an “A” in the class.  Hope everyone is having a good weekend!  😉

*Sorry, I know the Super Bowl has passed, but there’s gotta be at least some sort of game on the tube to keep you happily occupied this weekend; if in fact, you’re having this done.  I don’t see an expiration date on this, so sounds like it’s still a valid coupon; and with free pizza and a bag of frozen peas, you can’t possibly go wrong!  Have a lovely weekend boys!  Lol…  😉
