
Who started the tradition of having cake on birthdays? And what about the candles, do they hold special significance? Were they originally placed there to ward off evil spirits? Or have they simply always been there to represent the age of a person and give them the opportunity to make a wish. ~M

Good question. Its a weird tradition of having one person blow their germs onto the cake and then have everyone partake of the germ fest… Just saying 🙂

Lol…. I never looked at it that way, but you’re absolutely right! And I’m a germaphobe, so I’ll never be able to look at Birthday cake the same ever again! 😂
