As I was leaving my daughter’s bedroom tonight after tucking her into bed, she called out to me in her sweet quiet little voice, and said, “I’m so glad I have you as my mom.” Of course, I had to rush right back in and give her another hug. She is just too precious for words. Thank you God, for blessings such as these.

“When the weight of the world is upon you and you're left spinning out of control. When you’ve been plunged head first into darkness, and you don’t know where to go. Simply follow that tiny flicker of light, far off in the distance somewhere. It’ll lead you to a place where love abounds and where hope is found everywhere.” ~M

I feel kinda jealous when I see parents and their kids sometimes…it’s a feeling I’ve never understood

I’m sorry Devereaux, that’s so sad to me. When you have your kids someday, you can change that. You can give them the kind of life that you’ve always wanted. That’s the thing… we always have a chance to break the cycle. 🙂

See, that’s the thing that makes it hard to watch. I probably won’t get that chance.

Everyone says that… my own daughter Amy said that, and less than a year later she was happily married. You can’t give up hope! You still have years ahead of you to find that special someone… don’t ever lose hope, you’ll see…

Yeah, but…it’s different for me in more ways than one. Race…gender…I dunno, a lot of things.

*sigh* unfortunately those things are out of my control, but I see your point

Allow people to see you… no your race, gender, or anything like that. But who you really are, the amazing person inside.
My favorite quote of all time is…
“We must accept finite disappointment, but never lose infinite hope.” ~Martin Luther King Jr.
